Spark Central, Boulcott Street - Wellington, NZ

We started working with Dave Mann and The Building Intelligence Group way back in 1992 and have had a close relationship with them ever since. For this office fit out they wanted us to "make it fun to come to work".

We absolutely love this kind of brief and, although it was challenging to design something for a client who specialises in project management, they were fantastic to work with and we didn't hold back.

The chandelier features large scale acrylic replicas of TBIG's business cards, illuminated from above by LED lights. The reception desk is made of plexiglass, and is illuminated by colour change LED's. The colour is reflective of the mood in the office, so if you enter and see black, have your wits about you.

We used the offcuts and samples of three boxes of Amtico vinyl tiles for the kitchen, which were very kindly provided by John Saunders at Irvine International. The different colours and textures create an environment where people are more than happy to lose the odd bit of productivity over the coffee machine.
